Catch Up Time

First of all, let me apologize for any of you that may have checked out our blog recently to see what was "going on" in the Godley family! Time has flown by the past few months, and I just haven't had the time to sit down and update you all on what has been going on with us.

I'll try to catch you up on a few things that have taken place and will try to do better throughout the year as things start to get busy this spring and summer. My calendar is already filling up quickly. I color code things on there so I know what is work related and what's personal, etc... I have a rainbow going on already and it's only March! Or maybe I should say...Is it already March!?! This year is flying by...wasn't it just Christmas!?!?!?!

Anywho...let's get on with the pictures and the goins on shall we.

December was filled with lots of fun activities with family and friends. My nephew Scotty was heading off to boot camp this year, so we wanted to spend as much time with him as possible. We spent several Saturdays/Sundays at Cracker Barrel just enjoying spending time with him and his family. Reid always enjoys being with the "big" boys and Aunt Shelli.
Our family is wonderful, and we have so much fun together. It's a shame that we don't all live in the same town. We miss them so much when we are apart. (I'm not so sure that Cracker Barrel shares my sentiment...I have a feeling they just think we are all a bunch of nuts!!) It's all good clean fun though, and that's what counts! :0)

Reid also enjoyed himself (a little too much) at his Sunday School Christmas party. The children made Christmas cookies and then decorated them. They had a blast...and the adults had even more fun watching them! I'm not so sure we enjoyed watching the after effects of all the sugar highs, but the activity itself was a lot of fun!

Another highlight of the Christmas season was getting to go see the lights at the local theme park with friends. The kids enjoyed riding rides, seeing the reindeer, and the entire family enjoyed a great live nativity scene.

We always enjoy the Christmas season and all that it brings with it. Family and friends mean so much to us, and we love this time of year because we get to spend more time with them than usual. We enjoyed this year especially because it was the first time that Reid started to realize the true meaning for Christmas. He's starting to grow more intellectually, and we were able to teach him more so this Christmas was special in a different way for us. It's a wonderful feeling when you see your children start to learn about Jesus (and want to learn more about Him!).

Well that brings us up to this year. Even though I say I've been too busy to blog, I can't really think of anything significant that has happened so far this year that is worth telling everyone about. I do have some cute pictures of Reid that I took the other day when I made the mistake of giving him some yogurt and leaving the room! He had fun...that's all I can say.

I think he was painting a portrait on the high chair. Whatever he was doing, it was a blast and I'm sure he would love to do it again! :o)

(What you don't see from the pictures is the yogurt that is slung all over the den...walls, couch, tv, etc...)

Our little man is growing up so fast. He is such a blessing to us. He's as much fun as he is trouble right now! I've just started reading "Bringing Up Boys" by Dr. James Dobson. I'm already laughing to the point of tears while reading the book. Boys truly are a challenge, but the book is so encouraging to parents that are entrusted to raise them by God. Every day is an adventure, and it is one that I do not embark on without the Lord's help. I always ask for his wisdom, strength, guidance and of course A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR!
